Dr. Ellen Hechler & the Girls Dr. Ellen Hechler has been teaching for over 27 years

She received her Doctorate in Education in 1995 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

She has received many awards:

Mathematics Educator of the Year from the Detroit Area Council of Teachers of Mathematics
Golden Apple Award from the Wayne County R.E.S.A.
Named in Who's Who in American Educators
Named in Who's Who Registry of Rising Young Americans
Named in 2000 Most Notable American Women

She has presented workshops all over the United States for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics conferences.

She is past-president of the Detroit Area Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

She was on the executive board of the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

In her spare time she likes to do ceramics and craft shows with her sister, and take care of her toy poodles.
